East Durham Business Centre is excited to welcome a local family training company who specialise in adult learning for both individuals and businesses. The company who provide training in business administration, customer service, team leading and management have also just branched out, now working with taxi companies to provide Road Passenger Vehicle Driver qualifications.
Wingate & Station Town area
Local History
Wingate, is a former pit village that was originally inhabited by around 30 farmers before 1839 when coal was discovered. As with most villages in the area, it grew rapidly with the development of coal-mining in the region. It is located in the East of County Durham, three miles South West of Peterlee, and seven miles North West of Hartlepool. The Village has easy access to road links for commuters, with the A181 leading westward to Durham and then North and South via the A1. Heading East towards the East Durham coast will lead commuters to the North and South Bound A19, with links to Peterlee, Sunderland and Teeside. Not only that there bike tracks leading to Sunderland and Middlesbrough and a walkway leading through Castle Eden Dene which attracts plenty of people in the area. Our business centre is served by a number of bus routes with the nearest bus stop just a few minutes walk away.
